Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for Nextbit Robin is now available

After the Android 7.0 Nougat update released for the Nextbit Robin, the Andoid 7.1.1 update has been rolled for the cloud-focused device. Currently factory images are available, although we expect the OTA rollout will also begin soon.

In case you missed, it was announced earlier this year that Nextbit is being acquired by Razer. While sales of the phone and its accessories have stopped, Nextbit promised that it will honor warranties for six more months, as well as keep pushing software/security updates to the handset through February of 2018.

It may take some time to popup notification of latest update appear on your device. Whereas the update is released in phases will take some time to reach your region. If you have not received the update yet then you can check for update manually using below steps:

  1. Open the Settings menu for your Android.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the menu and tap About device.
  3. Tap System updates.
  4. Tap Check for update.
  5. Tap OK if asked to confirm.
  6. Wait while your device checks for updates.
  7. Tap Download or Yes if an update is available.
Before installing the software update make sure to sufficiently charge the phone at least 60% and stay connected to Wi-fi connection otherwise you will have to download pay for data package.
