AT&T LG G5 software update with WISPr support and fix for Real Time Text (RTT)
AT&T released an software update to the LG G5
with a really technical set of changelog. The update comes as software version H82020n and is based on Android 7.0 with security patch level of April 1, 2017. This is a moderately large update sized at 378MB.
The update brings support for Wireless Internet Service Provider roaming (WISPr) which allows users to use roaming services for wireless internet service in a manner similar to that of cellular networks. You can read more about WISPr over here.
Besides, WISPr, there’s a fix for RTT (Real Time Text) as well with this update to the AT&T LG G5.
It may take some time to popup notification of latest update appear on your device. Whereas the update is released in phases will take some time to reach your region. If you have not received the update yet then you can check for update manually using below steps:
- Open the Settings menu for your Android.
- Scroll to the bottom of the menu and tap About device.
- Tap System updates.
- Tap Check for update.
- Tap OK if asked to confirm.
- Wait while your device checks for updates.
- Tap Download or Yes if an update is available.
Before installing the software update make sure to sufficiently charge the phone at least 60% and stay connected to Wi-fi connection otherwise you will have to download pay for data package.
