BlackBerry PRIV getting new update with June security patch
BlackBerry has started releasing new stable update to its PRIV
units which installs the June security patch on the smartphone. The update weighs in around 130MB in size and is being released over the air (OTA) PRIV users. As usual, the update is available only for the handsets that have been purchased from the Shop BlackBerry.
In case, you’ve purchased your BlackBerry PRIV from carriers or other retailers, you might have to wait until they officially roll out the update.
As is the case with any security patch, the update takes care of various security vulnerabilities and brings along bug fixes to existing bugs. You can also expect performance and stability improvements from the update for Android System.
It may take some time to popup notification of latest update appear on your device. Whereas the update is released in phases will take some time to reach your region. If you have not received the update yet then you can check for update manually using below steps:
- Open the Settings menu for your Android.
- Scroll to the bottom of the menu and tap About device.
- Tap System updates.
- Tap Check for update.
- Tap OK if asked to confirm.
- Wait while your device checks for updates.
- Tap Download or Yes if an update is available.
Before installing the software update make sure to sufficiently charge the phone at least 60% and stay connected to Wi-fi connection otherwise you will have to download pay for data package.
