Latest Verizon Moto Droid Turbo 2 software update brings latest security patches
Verizon released latest security patch for Motorola Moto Droid Turbo 2
today. The new software update is probably for the month of May rather than for June patch as Motorola is yet to deliver the previous month’s updates.
So this software update should be installing security patches for the month of April or May, arriving as software version 25.201.6.kinzie_verizon.verizon.en.US. The device is exclusive to Verizon and the carrier hasn’t been that forthcoming when it comes to updates.
The Moto Droid Turbo 2 was released back in 2015 with Android 5.1 Lollipop and has since lived to see Nougat, which was released with the previous update. The Moto Z Play Droid, which is also a Verizon exclusive, received Nougat back in March.
Motorola is now expanding further into the budget market with the Moto C. The entry-level device retails at INR 5,999 and stays a notch below the current budget Moto E3 Power. Motorola recently also launched the Moto Z2 Play at Verizon, which will remain exclusive to the carrier in US. While, they have the Moto Z2 in works too.
It may take some time to popup notification of latest update appear on your device. Whereas the update is released in phases will take some time to reach your region. If you have not received the update yet then you can check for update manually using below steps:
- Open the Settings menu for your Android.
- Scroll to the bottom of the menu and tap About device.
- Tap System updates.
- Tap Check for update.
- Tap OK if asked to confirm.
- Wait while your device checks for updates.
- Tap Download or Yes if an update is available.
Before installing the software update make sure to sufficiently charge the phone at least 60% and stay connected to Wi-fi connection otherwise you will have to download pay for data package.
