Moto X Play Official Android 7.1.1 Nougat update finally rolling out
Good news for Moto X Play
phone users! Lenovo-owned Motorola has finally started rolling out the much-needed Android Nougat update to its 2015’s mid-range handset, the Moto X Play.
The new update also carries with it the Android security patches until May 1st, 2017 alongside the usual bug fixes and stability improvements. Further, the update will install Google’s video calling app, the Google Duo on the smartphone.
Before getting into further details, let us warn you that you won’t be able to downgrade to the previous software versions once you install the latest update.
The company has skipped the Android 7.0 Nougat update (as opposed to what it promised earlier) and is directly rolling out the Android 7.1.1 Nougat (finally!).
This update will bring all the Nougat goodies to the Moto X Play including multi-window split screen mode, improved Doze mode, and updated notifications shade. Also, the Moto X Play users can now check out the updated Quick Settings and Settings Menu which is a part of the Nougat update.
It may take some time to popup notification of latest update appear on your device. Whereas the update is released in phases will take some time to reach your region. If you have not received the update yet then you can check for update manually using below steps:
- Open the Settings menu for your Android.
- Scroll to the bottom of the menu and tap About device.
- Tap System updates.
- Tap Check for update.
- Tap OK if asked to confirm.
- Wait while your device checks for updates.
- Tap Download or Yes if an update is available.
Before installing the software update make sure to sufficiently charge the phone at least 60% and stay connected to Wi-fi connection otherwise you will have to download pay for data package.
