Samsung has been allowed the go ahead to test its self-driving car on public roads. The Land Ministry of Korea granted the approval recently, allowing the company to test its self-driving tech.

Of course, Samsung will not be making any new cars as such, but will develop sensors, software, and other components to make self-driving cars better. The South Korean giant will be using its technology on a Hyundai made car.

The Hyundai car would be fitted with all the camera sensors and modules to make it a safe self-driving car. The car would begin testing very soon on public roads in the country. We have no idea when these would actually be available to the public.

Self-driving cars are the next big thing, and Samsung definitely wants a piece of the action. And instead of building its own car, testing its tech on something that’s already available, is a very good idea.
